The Village Has Faces.
Here Are Ours.
Every person on this team is here because they believe the village is real — and that it is worth showing up for, every single day.
Mon Amie's is a family-rooted, community-driven organization. The people behind it bring decades of experience in education, organizational consulting, mental wellness, and youth development — and every one of them has a personal stake in the mission. This isn't just where we work. It's what we're built for.
Our Founders
Amy B. Ogunyemi
Founder & Chief Executive Officer — “Mrs. Amy”Amy Baker-Ogunyemi is a people, systems, and organizational culture executive with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations strengthen workforce environments and helping families and youth navigate the barriers that affect development and stability. Her career spans consulting, logistics, real estate, retail, and community-focused sectors, where she has led workforce, culture, and operational transformation across multi-site organizations.
She founded Mon Amie's in 2017 to bridge a gap she observed across both corporate and community work: many challenges affecting youth and families are shaped by the environments around them — including schools, workplaces, and community systems. Her love for learning was ignited at a young age, and her passion for helping children with learning challenges grew when her own children began their educational journey.
Amy holds a Master of Education in Human Resources and Workforce Development and a Master of Business Administration. She is completing a Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Traumatology, with advanced study in family systems, developmental trauma, and community-based support models.
She is the proud mother of three remarkable children — Akin, Jahleel, and Remi — who serve as Junior Operations Assistants at Mon Amie's. She teaches them the values of hard work, responsibility, and entrepreneurship from a young age, believing deeply in early exposure to business principles as a path to confidence and independence.
Jason Ogunyemi
Co-Founder & Director of Education and Youth Development — “Coach O” / “Mr. O”Jason Ogunyemi is an educator, youth development leader, and academic systems strategist with more than two decades of experience helping young people improve academic performance, confidence, and life readiness. His career spans classroom teaching, literacy and curriculum leadership, and academic program development across diverse student populations.
As Co-Founder and Director of Education and Youth Development, Jason leads Mon Amie's academic strategy, tutoring and mentoring programs, and student support initiatives. He is deeply passionate about building strong relationships with students — creating engaging, enjoyable learning environments and weaving in the occasional “lame” dad joke to keep things light. His approach combines high expectations with authentic connection, humor, and genuine care.
Jason is also the founder and director of O-Zone Athletics, where he integrates sports, character development, and life skills training — coaching alongside his children in a family-centered model of athletic development. He has served as a volunteer YMCA basketball coach for his children's teams for the past four years.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and two Master of Education degrees — in Educational Leadership from Louisiana Tech University and in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Reading from LSU Shreveport. He is the proud father of Akin, Jahleel, and Remi — three extraordinary kids who are also his teammates at Mon Amie's.
